A whimsical creation that celebrates Stockton’s place in the history of railways and automation.
The Flyer will emerge from its housing in the Plinth every day at 1pm, whistling, whirring and steaming into life as it performs for 10 minutes.
Take a look at sculptor and inventor Rob Higgs as he talks about the process of production from design to installation and all the quirky elements which make up the fantastic Flyer.
The unique piece of art made it’s grand unveiling to celebrate the Queens 90th birthday in June 2016 as part of our ‘Right Royal Celebration’. Check out the moment the Flyer was revealed as part of our Town Centre celebration.
